Will this be considered as an exemption...

Hi, I'm new to this forum.

Some advice would be much appreciated...

I finished the AAT at level 2 and 3 in 2010 and I have been working for a large company as an accounts assistant since (filing VAT returns / EC Sales / Intrastat and PAYE Settlements and the list goes on). I am about to have my second child very soon and have just started my maternity leave. However I have decided that rather han go back to working for someone else, I would like to set up a bookkeeping business from home.

Would I be granted exemption for anything at all, considering it has been over two years since completion of my AAT qualifications?

If not, what courses will I need to do? I would like to study from home, I would like to use sage and I would also like for my services to be aimed at sole traders for now? I would like to complete my studies in the quickest possible time too.

Thank you, Candice

The best thing to do would be ring the ICB - they would be able to tell you if you get any exemptions and which exams you need to take.
