Hello everybody

Sorry there has been a small confusion about this week's meeting ( something about threads? ) - thank you Mac for pointing that out - not highly technical I am afraid ...........

Yes,  it is this week and yes,  it starts at 7.30 p.m to ease travelling during the 'Olympic ' run-up time Smile

Lots of you have already signed up,  and we are looking forward to seeing you all.

Liz is doing a really good talk about 'getting things ready for the year end for the accountants ' and I shall be there with biscuits and nice labels so you all can get to know each other ( and make things easier for us to say hello to you )

See you there ........

cheers,
  :-)

Lovely to see the meeting so well attended last night and apologies for the technical hitches.

You can see the presentation on preparing a year end file at the link below:

Be a little patient - it takes a little time to download.

Thanks for the lecture last night, Liz, and your notes.

So that’s what I was doing over all those years when I was running my own company, providing the accountant with the reconciled bank account transactions and expenditure analysis each year, VAT returns summary, a note of pre-payments and outstanding debts, summary of net salaries, PAYE, NI and expense claims, sales invoice summary, etc.

I was compiling the Year End File!

Thank you, Liz, for explaining to me what its real name is.

And also for telling me the technical name for the day-to-day tasks - ‘the daily grind’.
Very useful.  I’ll remember that.  Wink

See you all after the summer break.

Hi Everyone.

I was wondering whether someone could orgaise a workshop on MLR as I find it al a bit scary to be honest.  I have used the ICB tools online and it shows the risk assessment as High, when I believe the risk is not that high, so I am just wondering whether I might have mis-interpreted some of the questions that relate to this.  I have just booked an workshop with HMRC, about this, but it is subject to the number of requests and location, so it might not even happen!

By the way I attended the July 2012 London Branch meeting and I was the one that might confused some of you about being given the opening balances from a previous accountant when the information provided is not as detailed as mentioned on the 25th July meeting, i.e no recs of the VAT Liability accounts, etc...

Look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards
Carla

Hi Carla,

I run the Hamstead Branch and I have something in the pipeline for MLR for the October meeting - it is a daytime meeting though. Watch this space!

Thank you Meena.

In live in London / Surrey, so it will be too far to consider.  But if you could post any presentation slides on the forum, so I and others can access, then that would be fantastic!

Kind regards
Carla

Hi Garmen

Actually MLR is scary - and I think an informed talk about this would be an excellent  idea.
Thank you for taking the trouble to make a suggestion , I will talk to Liz and see if we can organise something soon.

Cheers,

   Smile
