Hi everyone.
Well, we've got another interesting talk for you all at July's meeting. Mohini Sawhney and her colleague Varni from HMRC are coming to give us a talk on Risk Assessment and Compliance Checks.
I have asked them to concentrate on compliance for VAT, PAYE and Self Assessment.
We will be starting half an hour earlier to accommodate the visitors. The agenda will be as follows:
6.00pm Networking/Coffee
6.30pm HMRC talk on Risk Assessment and Compliance checks
7.30pm Q&A
8.00pm Further networking in the downstairs bar
Please book your tickets using the online system or call Mathini in the office to arrange it.

Hi Liz,
and everybody who attended last nights excellent London Regional Meeting.
I am lost in admiration from the team who gave such and excellent presentation on Compliance.
It was full of mind boggling facts, excellent handouts and a workbook to take
away which summarised the presentation and (scary) 3 case studies which we worked on together.
A really brilliant evening.
Remember, these meetings are run for you by the members. To get the most out of them DO come along and join in.
The level of chatter last night shows what a great opportunity it is to meet each other and NETWORK, and gain valuable knowledge.

What a great meeting! I'd go so far as to say it was one of our best!
Mohini and Varni from HMRC gave fantastic presentations on risk and compliance and on the changing role of agents. They were knowledgeable and very lovely.
One member told me that she felt that last night's meeting was worth her whole year's membership fee!
Our next meeting will be the last Wednesday in September. Watch this space!

I would have loved to have been able to attend last night but just simply couldn't make it. I have benefitted hugely from the branch meetings and this one would have been no different I'm sure. Are there any notes or anythifor available? Or do you plan on putting this on again? I have just signed up as an agent so this would have been great for me.

Hi Shernell.
I can tell you that we will definitely be having Mohini and Varni back again! Not only do we want them back but they want to come back too! In fact, Mohini e-mailed to find out when our September meeting was happening!
I will probably ask them to come back for the November meeting.
I have sent the Powerpoint presentation to Mathini at HQ for distribution to those want it, so you can contact her directly for it.

If you attended the meeting you should have had them emailed to you by now. Otherwise email mathini@bookkeepers.org.uk to request a copy.
