are there other mocks apart from Terrific Ts

HI

i have completed terrific Ts mock.  Is there any other mocks for payroll avaiable or not? i bought terrific ts but cant seen anymore on the site.

 

i would like to book my exam soon but would like to do another mock just to check im getting things correct.

 

im new to payroll so there have beens some errors on my part which the mock helped me with.

 

i also cant see how i can book the exam.. it doesnt appear in a list anywhere. do i have to ring ICB to obtain this exam?

 

I am not that confident that i have learnt everything i need to. i have used sage instant self study books which are quite comprehensive but still found the exam tricky!

 

any advice would be appreciated.  I dont want to apply for my licence until i have passed payroll.

Hi Carol

There is another mock available in the shop if you go to the online section but it is for 13/14 tax year so depends on which year you are studying.

To order the payroll exam you will need to ring the ICB as they need to know what year you are completing first and then they will email it out to you.

I am presuming that you are using the training software to complete this course as you mentioned the self-study workbooks. The self-study workbooks are good for the computerised part of the course but dont cover much detail with regards to manual payroll and statutory payments, students loans etc.

You can always find out more information on this on the HMRC website.

I can now see the other  mock but can you tell me if this is an online timed exam or one you can just download like the other one.?

just confused me as to why it is in a different section of the shop? Im guessing the payroll exam isnt timed and that you get 2 weeks?

 

ive been using Sage Instant self study course and have found it quite comprehensive. There was a whole section on manual payrol which i supplemented with downloads from the HMRC website. It also didnt cover CIS so have found that online too. It also covered statuatory payments which was good. I think this is teh only problem with the payroll course.. you never really know if youve covered everything properly having no standard study book.

Hi Carol

This mock paper is similar to the other one in that you download it and complete it using the computerised payroll software.

It is in the same format as the current final exam in that there are 3 different sections to complete.

Section A – A number of questions requiring transactions using computerised payroll software worth a total of 100 marks.

Section B – A number of written / calculation questions worth a total of 40 marks.

Section C – Online multiple choice questions worth a total of 10 marks.

As this is a mock paper you dont complete Section C online but just answer the multiple choice questions that are given.

Not sure why it is in a different section than the other paper but this one will give you a good indication of what to expect with the final exam.
