Hi,

I currently do payroll in my role at work.  I have just had a look through the mock assessment ive been very kindly sent.

There are a few gaps in my knowledge.  Mainly on the manual side.

Does anyone have any payroll study texts that they no longer require that they would be willing to sell?

If so, please email me rob.lisa@outlook.com with details and price you want.

Thank you.

 Hi Lisa

there isnt a specific study text formpayroll im afraid. Ive recently passed my payroll exam and i asked this question too at first.  Best thing imfound was to download the guides from the HMRC WEBSITE.  there are tax tables and NI tables thatmyou can save as Pdfs. They give you step by step instructions on howmtomuse them so its a case of trawling through the information im afraid. There are all sorts of,help, guides from statuatory payments to NI TABLES

only trouble is there are diferent ones for each year so depends what year yr exam is or past paper is

the thing that helped me was doing past papers. I cant emphasize that enough. I did three in total and it definitely showed what gaps there were in my knowledge and that really, helped with the manual side in particular as it shows what they are looking for. The computerised part will be easy for you but che k yr answers.  I really struggled at first but passed with 95% so was very pleased with that!

Just one more thing... Am I right in thinking the exam is a project that you send off?

Thanks
Lisa

Hi Lisa

The exam is home based so you can use the HMRC website for reference and if you complete the mock paper which is available from the shop then you will see the format of the final exam.

The NIC tables off the HMRC website can be found here for both 13/14 and 14/15 tax years

You will also need the stautory tables, student loan tables and there is also a good Day to Day guide to RTI as well that you may find helpful

Hope this helps

Hopefully should be fine with RTI as do that one every week at work but manual is definitely where I need to study. Along with directors coz my boss does that for obvious reasons haha

Looking forward to giving it a go now.
