Hi all, I am here trying to find out a bit more information. I am trying to figure out whether pursuing a career in Book Keeping is right. I have a BA Hons in Accountancy. This was obtained back in 2007. Since then I tried doing my CIMA but to be honest found it very hard and some of it very boring. I work in a finance department of an engeering company but as I have not become fully qualified it is hard to progress. I always liked the practical aspects of accounting but in my present work it is mainly more process orientated in one area. I was thinking if I did the book keeping course and became qualified then this might open doors and even allow me to set up on my own which I could do in my spare time.

I would love it if someone could give me some advice as I am confused in terms of my career, and feel  a bit deflated with where I am at at present. I am not getting any younger and feel that this might be a good way where I could work for myself in my spare time.

Anyone got any advice as to whether I should go for it?

Thanks in advance

Nishal
