Hello,

I am looking to start a self assesment course and wondering if any one could recommend any training providers?

For my levels I and II i took self study but feel now i might go with a provider so i have no experience of any of them.

Any thoughts welcome!!

Thank you

Hi,

I have recently completed the self assessment using the manual from the ICB shop. I found it very comprehensive and also purchasing the mock exams as well helped immensely. The exam was tricky but all the training  needed was in the manual. It`s only my opinion but i thought the self assessment course through a provider was expensive and decided to go the self study route. Also to bear in mind the exam is £60!

thank you....i saw the book on the website and it was priced at £99...must be some book!  also i did struggle with level 3 ...i havent taken that yet and have given that up for the moment as i will never make the march deadline. which is why i am thinking of a provider.

its a lot of money for a book if i then feel like i need a provider as well!

I would recommend a company called a Training Link.

I am currently doing my Level 3 with them and the Self Assessment course is £225

Well worth the money I would say

I totally agree - doing all my studies with Training link. I really like the way the courses are structured and they really work for me (no advert, but I have used another training provider and their course where totally online and it totally did my head in !!!)

I did a course on health and safety with a provider, I eventually ditched it and did it myself. My feeling is when I do this subject is I will do it myself. Training providers might be good, but you can have 4 goes at the exam for the same money

Hi,

Apologies firstly, i didnt know the manual was £99, i got mine in November and it was only £25. So i can understand spending £225 with a training provider makes sense. I just feel i have spent a small fortune on text books, exams etc, i know its an investment in my future but am now trying to find cheaper ways of achieving my goals.

Best Wishes

While by no means a training provider, I have been putting together some webinars on self assessment as I felt the ICB syllabus was over simplistic.

If you want to know a bit more just drop me an email at kris@ayrshireaccountancy.co.uk

Thank you to all who replied.

I am miffed to discover the Self Assesment manual was only £25 in november!

i started level 3 just with the book but to be honest i really struggled and having no tutor to clarify makes it harder. if i spend 99 on the book then i change to a course provider then that was a waste of money/

like you say stewart its an investment in myself but my money is somewhat limited at the moment.

and kris thank you for the webinars i will email you!
