Quickbooks

Hi,

I've been looking at software for going self-employed once I've finished my AAT level 4 (nearly completed). I've downloaded the free trial of Quickbooks Online and was wondering if it was the same/similiar to Quickbooks Pro? I'm used to using Sage 50 and finding the Quickbooks online a bit strange but cannot justify the cost of Sage and I'm not keen on the recent update Sage have just done.

Thanks in advance,

Becky

Hi Bex

Quickbooks Online is a different program to the QB desktop options - and as you have discovered very different to Sage 50.    Don't try to compare - just try to use it.  You know what you need to put in and out of the system - software is just a tool to achieve that.  There are lots of really good help videos and tutorials  available through the ? in the top right of the screen in QBO.  If you are having trouble setting it up and want some quick advice feel free to email me - sylvia@anotheranswer.co.uk.  I run my entire pracitce using QBO - plus I train for them - so I am a great fan.  No software is perfect, but the real beauty of online software is that it gets updated in real time instead of having to keep buying new editions each year.

In addition, the pricing is great.  Hopefully you signed up as an Accountant User and got your free QBO Accountant and thus your free Practice File as well.

Also - the new version of the QBOAccountant just released is AMAZING and a fab piece of practice management software.
