Hi,
I enrolled with the Open Study College last year to do level 2, 3, 4 and Diploma in Payroll Management. I'm half way through level 3 and now realise that the old level 4 is being phased out and the new level 3 has been updated to include elements of level 4. Obviously, I paid for all of it when I enrolled and having spoken to the college, I have to complete the old level 4 by December of this year. The worry is getting hold of textbooks etc. Does anyone have any advice on how to best proceed? Do I continue on the old level 3 and 4 and hope I can get it done by December or do I switch to the new level 3 now even though I'm half way through? Time is a big factor for me just now as have two small children, a business with my husband and mid house renovations.
Thanks for any input or thoughts!

Hi Lolly,
As I understand it, if you get the Level 3 under the old system you get an automatic upgrade to MICB without sitting the old level 4 exams. That has been the response from ICB to me directly. So maybe you could just work on finishing Level 3, get the upgrade and then do the Payroll? I am working on the Payroll diploma now as well.
I actually qualified as a bookkeeper last year under the "old" system and previously in 2009/10 under the "old old" system! :-). It's getting complicated!
