I have a client who sells some goods online. Many of them are childrens shoes and are exempt from VAT. The trouva reports do not give a breakdown of vatable sales and I want to double check that no vat sales have gone through - anyone have experience of this? 

Have fired off a communication but got a generic "we will get back to you in 72 hours" so was just interested if anyone had any dealings.

One of my clients sells through Trouva and is sent a statement each month which gives a breakdown of VAT and details of all items sold including the fees they have deducted etc.  My client fowards me the email which has a link to the monthly statement which gives me enough info for VAT purposes.

Hopefully your client can forward those to you, perhaps set a rule so they automatically forward to you.

thanks for that. Yes I do receive the statement/invoice, but it does not give the vat on sales, but the vat charged by Trouva on their fees

I have scrolled through the many pages of info but it does not show the sales that are vatable - simply a total of goods sold, and then trouva fees charged on those transactions and the vat charged by them? 

does yours give a sales vat figure somewhere?

You are right.  I just looked back and realised I had to do a manual check of all items sold to see if they were VAT applicable.  At least they give you a complete list of the sales, which is something!

We did ask Trouva and they weren't helpful, so this was the only way I could get the information by checking the sold items against out own stock system.
