Hi

Is it possible to run a year end in Xero? I am working with a client who uses Xero, which I have been working on for him. He has an accountant who has just completed his accounts for year ending Jan 15 apparently using his information from Xero and nothing matches (thats another story though).

Nothing appears to have been done though to stop postings or close down the year end.

Not sure if you have solved your problem.  Xero does not do year ends, just do closing jnls at 31.10.15 then opening journals on 01.11.15.  You can stop posting of data once year end complete by going into Settings/ General Settings/Financial settings and set Lock Dates to your year end.
