Hi,

I am a recent gradaute in business and management accounting and currently starting to study towards my ACCA. I have worked in my husbands business as a bookkeeper recording his transactions but thats just about it. I am a patient of SLE (lupus) and with that I am unable to work normal hours of the day as I would in any other business. Therefore I feel i wont be able to complete my PER for ACCA. (i'd be interested to know if anyone has information about exceptions in that case from ACCA).
My question is, now that I see my chances slim of working as a full time accountant, and I really want to earn myself, how viable is it that I can become a bookkeeper and operate from my home as it would suit my health aswell. I'd like to hear from bookkeepers who are mothers as well and managing their business along with responsibility. How did they do it?

Any comments and remarks will also be appreciated as I feel lost at the moment and feel like my chances of success are ending due to my illness.

Thank you
