Syllabus B1

Hi,

I'm a new student and I'm preparing the B1 exam. I would like to know which chapters should I study for B1 and which are for the B2.

I study on the study text but it seems those two exams are combined in some sense...

Do you have any advice?

Thank you in advance.

Hi Boris,

Who are you studying with?  I am currently with Open Study College and from the Level 2 Package I found that you need to get a grasp of everything to do with manual bookkeeping that is in the course (So not the computerised package bits) in order to geth through both exams.

I passed my B1 a couple of weeks ago and have done the B2 mock and will be doing the exam over the next couple of days.

The B1 was more calculation based and what entries go into what ledgers and the B2 is about VAT, CIS, Day books and companies, legislations etc.

I would suggest you pay for and complete the mocks, I found this hugely beneficial.  The whole Mock and Exam process is very straightforward.

Hope this helps

Jules

Hi Jules,

Thank you for your answer, now it's all clear. I'm studying with Kaplan and I already have some mock papers but I'll buy another one for sure!

How was the B1?

Hi Boris,

I found the B1 easier than the B2 but I think that is because i am better with numbers and calculations than knowing rules, VAT and CIS are my weak areas but calculations and the ledgers are where I am stronger.

I got 96% on my B1 and 95% on my B2....  I am getting ready for the B3 now but am wondering how the exam will be structured as it is software based.  I guess ill know once I do the mock.

Good luck to you

Thanks

Jules
