I'm preparing an income and expenditure statement for a local club.  Is it ok to net some of the figures in the statement (eg show "Proceeds from Xmas Fayre £200", rather than two separate lines showing Receipts from Xmas Fayre £500 and Costs of Xmas Fayre £300 in their relevant sections).

Seems to me to be the right thing to do as this would be more meaningful to the reader (the club members) but for my own satisfaction would like to find a reference somewhere to confirm it's ok to do this.

Hi Susan

I used to complete a separate detailed sheet to show specific incomings and outgoings for each activity/fundraiser to give an additonal insight to the members.

I think this just provides added value and doesn't take very long to do and was appreciated.
