Getting some active experience

Hi all,

So I have recently gained my level 2 qualification. I am now looking for some hands on experience to keep myself up to date and help build my CV..

How did people who are further on than me achieve this?

I have been out of work for so long that my CV is extremely out of date and I am now in a position to get myself back out there.

Any advice would be great.

Thanks

Hello everybody

I am in the same position as you as well! Just awaiting my b3 results? How long does it take for them to come bk to you on that note? I am planning to go into level 3? But need to update my cv and want to work to get some hands on experience. Dont know how to go about this?

Any help would be great ?

Regards

Well - it can't be easy to get a job based purely on level 2, but maybe if you can afford to do it offer your services for free just to do a couple of months experience as a bookkeepers assistant.

This is a very good and relevant thread.

So I started my practice 4 years back and very quickly, I needed help. I found it impossible to get any ICB trained employees (student or otherwise), even though I advertised on the ICB job section on the website. In the end I went to my local college and ended up recruiting AAT students (apprentices).

My practice has now 3 employees, all of which are AAT and all full time now.

I am now looking for a 4th, and would love to give an ICB student a chance, so if you are an ICB student and in North West London, contact me. However, I fear I will end up with another AAT qualified staff, as there is no easy way here on the site (or otherwise) of marrying growing ICB practice owners with ICB qualified students/members.

Hi Vinesh

Perhaps you can give me a call. As a general rule, I prefer to employ full time.

I have the same problem, I have a job listed on ICB Vacancies, however, have not received any enquiries.  I am looking for one or two part time or full time to join our small team and grow with the practice but think I may well have to follow your lead Accountsforme and go to my local college for an AAT member, although I could do with one of them having more experience, in Xero preferably and payroll.

Any ICB members out there looking?  Job is listed on the Vacancies section, Hampshire.
