Hi, would anybody be able to recommend software for a property rental business please.  The client I have has 6 properties and rents approx. 6 rooms in each property.  I am currently using an excel spreadsheet but my client has expressed an interest in Quickbooks.

Any suggestions please?

Hi Catherine - I use a program called KEY, by Landmark, which has been developed for Property and Farming Businesses.  I use the Farming Program, so can't comment indepth about the Property program, but it is my favourite accounting package (out of KEY, VT, SAGE and CATALYST).

I hope that helps.

Hi Catherine

I use VT Accounts and find it easy to use - and you can set departments in VT that you could use for each property/room.

Not sure how it compares in terms of prices (£200 first year then £150 p.a.) to say Quickbooks but it is multi-company so you could buy it for your own use for other clients as well.

I've not used Wys's suggestion of KEY so that might be better ?

Kind regards,

Gina

Many thanks to both of you for your suggestions, I will look into both KEY and VT accounts!

Hi Catherine

You're proablbay already sorted, but there is also a software called Klyant that is purpose built for property rental businesses. I haven't used it but they were at the ICB conference in October 2016.

Many best wishes

Kim
