I've been asked by the local pre-school to sign off their accounts. I see that I'm allowed to do this, but having glanced through the Charity Commission's 83 page document full of legal speak they sent me, I'm not sure if it's worth my while. Has anyone done this before and how involved is it? Is is a case of looking through their accounts (Excel I think), check a few transactions and get a general feel for the accuracy and writing a little report stating it's all ok? Or should I spend a lot more time and effort on this?
No idea what to charge them either. I've been approached by another of my contacts about their Royal Navy horse charity as well.
