I have had a number of clients ask me about AEOI forms: Automatic Exchange of Information agreement Entity self-certification forms. These are currently being sent out to clients of Barclays Bank.

Whilst I understand the purpose of their existence, the forms are not entirely clear and some questions rather ambiguous.

Is there any advice from the ICB or other members as to how we should handle these forms . .if at all . .

Hi

I've just been working on this form from Barclays with one of my clients - and have done a couple in the past. In reality they are a lot more straightforward than they look (I hope !).

The main issue is what to tick in Section B. With a careful read of the guidance I tihnk it becomes fairly self-explanatory what relates to the type of businesses that you may be dealing with ? The rest of the form is just detail and in fact many sections can be left blank depending on your answer to Section B.

Thanks Gina . . in the end they asked for the form back and said the bank were happy just tom have their UTR
