I've just waded through this 80 page White Paper. It made very interesting reading! I really thought that Companies House verified the identities of the people setting up new companies...apparently not... A company can be set up in as little as 24 hours. Now that's a scary thought, isn't it? When we check a new limited company client out we are relying on information that has not been verified. Welcome to the 21st Century Companies House!!
I suggest as many of us as possible read the White Paper and answer the questions posed. It is basically your opinion of the questions posed, but as it will affect many of us all at some point as we use it as a part of our due diligence/verification/proof of id, it is a good idea to get your tuppence worth in before things happen! A bit like voting - if you don't vote, you can't complain about the outcome!!
