I have just started up my practice, and also have the Self Assessment Tax Diploma. I have registered with HMRC as a tax agent and have Xero and Hubdoc, so basically all cloud accounting. Looking to provide a service to self employed/sole trader and very small businesses.
Got some potential clients who are mainly in the building (subcontractor) sector, so CIS registered etc... A few are tech savy, as in will use the cloud accounting apps and scan in their receipts etc..., but also have some that are 'old skool' and will basically hand me a bag of dusty receipts from the dashboard of their van!
So my dilemma is what to charge them for doing their accounts including submitting their tax return. Not sure what the going rates are, been looking on the internet at local accounting firms who are charging anything from £25 to £50 per month depending on what services are required. Maybe charge less for someone willing to engage with the cloud accounting apps as this reduces my work significantly?
