I have been asked to compile the financial accounts for a small local charity. Do I need a specific accounting software for charities?

You dont necessarily need specific software for charities, I have done some accounts for a charity whom I work for and those are done using QuickBooks. It really depends on the complexity etc.

The accounts are very straightforward. Is Quickbooks ok for the year end accounts and submission to the Charities commission? Lisa
Quickbooks will be more than adequate for straightforward accounts as will most of the accounting packages out there.
