Business Mileage

Hi, looking for some advice on claiming business mileage please (personal car).

My client is a Director of two companies - both shops, in different locations.  He spends his time split between both shops and home (working at all three locations).

As home to normal workplace cannot be claimed, how do I deal with this?  He is currently logging his mileage between all three bases.

Thanks

Hi Justine,

The rules are that you cannot claim for travel between home and work unless the place of work is temporary. You can find out more here: https://www.gov.uk/tax-relief-for-employees/vehicles-you-use-for-work

The travel between the two places of work is clearly business-related so that one is fine!

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,

Team ICB
