Plus ca change….

Join us for a not-to-be-missed seasonal run-through of the many recent and upcoming changes and challenges affecting bookkeepers. Whether you are a seasoned bookkeeper or are just embarking on your bookkeeping journey, whether you are working by yourself or as part of a team, there’s something here for you.

July is holiday season for most, but for busy bookkeepers, life continues apace.  So today we’ll take a breath and look back at all the changes that have been introduced so far this year and look ahead to some quite major things on our horizon.

We’ll have updates from HMRC and Companies House; updates on emerging risks and challenges in the on-going fight against money laundering, fraud and tax evasion, with input from the UKFIU SAR unit and the Regional Organised Crime Units; we’ll discuss the upcoming revised National Risk Assessment, and upgrades to ICB’s Professional Conduct Regulations and Sanctions Policy.  And we’ll finish off with some amazing successes that are down to you.

As always, the Compliance Team will be on hand to answer your questions, and of course the whole webinar will be recorded, so that if you really are on holiday, you can catch-up later.

The headline to this invite is taken from the full epigram, credited to Jean-Baptiste Alphones Kerr, which says, ‘plus ca change, plus c’est la mème chose’; the more things change, the more things stay the same. Perhaps. Bookkeeping has been evolving for centuries and bookkeepers remain as relevant and respected today as ever. But there is one big change that has taken place over the past thirty years, and that is that ICB and you, its highly motivated and knowledgeable members, have elevated bookkeeping from being a trade to being recognised as a profession. Vive la différence!
