Join us for an introduction to Quickbooks and to hear about HMRC employer compliance and minimum wage reviews. Our member Peter Robertson, MICB PM.Dip, will highlight some of the lesser known features of Quickbooks and tell us why he thinks Quickbooks is such great software for bookkeepers and clients.
For the second part of the session, we are delighted to invite a new speaker to our programme – Deborah Parks Green, an employment tax specialist. Deborah will be talking about HMRC employer compliance reviews and HMRC National Minimum Wage Reviews.
HMRC is targeting employers, challenging the payroll and reporting processes and seeking hefty settlements. We will discuss how to manage this review process, the common errors found, the consequence of mistakes, and how to mitigate settlements.
Whilst not a tax issue, HMRC has delegated responsibility for NMW enforcement. Paying NMW is far more complex than it seems, and genuine errors are made. This leads to hefty sanctions, including penalties and naming and shaming. We will discuss the common errors, the consequence of mistakes and how to mitigate settlements.
