Multiple versions of sage

Hi - I currently have Sage Accounts V12 on my laptop, which I use for a client (client 1).  However we have now moved away from using this to a different package.

I am now about to start work for another client (client 2) and the accountant is going to provide a copy of sage for me to use - the problem I have is that I already have V12 installed.

Although I don't actively use V12 for Client 1, I still do occassionally refer back to it.

Therefore I'm trying to understand:

Can I have two different versions of Sage on my laptop at the same time?

If not, is there any way that I can export/print/download all of the transactions since the year end so that if I need to I can refer back?

Thanks in advance.

Lou

Hi Lou

Yes you can have more one sage programme on, you have to download to another directory path.(Not existing path).I did have instant v12 with Sage 50 on my old computer, however now cannot have v12 on my new computer which is windows 7. So it does depend what operating system you have and how old the sage programme if is compatible. So as long the sage programs are compatible with your operating system, you should be ok.

I know you can export transactions to a csvfile on later programs, but can't remember with older v12!

Another way would be save your existing data on a portable device and if your new clients sage is the same version, then you can restore new clients data on your sage programme, then can update clients programme and back up on portable device when finished. Then if you need to go back to original data, can restore that data back, otherwise just leave until you need it!
