Hi All,
Rather than start a new topic asking the same thing I thought I'd jump on this one.

Hi Everyone,
I'm not asking for mocks, just info but as your all doing the module im asking about I thought you'd be the best bunch to ask.
Im just about ready to take my manual level 2 exam, but that has got me thinking about starting level 2 computerised. I am doing my studies via self-study at the moment, and I work in accounts on a daily basis.
My question is: How do you do the exam? Can anyone recommend any free software that has enough access for the exam or would I have to buy a special accounting software purely for the exam? Obviously I dont really want to have to do that, just to be used in the exam as by the time im ready to start up a business (if thats the route i decide to go down) things will have changed and it will be outdated, therefore a waste of money.

Hi Lisa,
I can't help on the free software advice. I also self studied so far, and bought a new unregistered copy of Sage Instants 2013 through Ebay for around half price. My thinking was as the coursework and exams seem to be based around Sage it made sense to use that, along with the fact that I'd have it there for the L3 when I need it.
If you do decide on Sage then look around as there are some reasonable deals out there.
The exam is done by saving reports generated by your software at different stages, which you then submit as a package to ICB by email for marking. You get 2 weeks from the date you download the exam to complete it and send it back to them.
