CIS Software

Hi everyone

I have a question on CIS Software.

My client is currently sub contracting their payroll to an external company and doing their own CIS in house for all of theire subcontractors.  They have lots!

They're looking for some software that will help them to manage the CIS Deductions on Supplier invoices.  They are using Quickbooks Online.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Susan

Hi Susan

Your clients may not wish to change their accounting software but Clear Books Online appears to be very good for CIS.  You can verify subcontractors and file your monthly return online and it is a simple transaction to show CIS on the subcontractors invoice.  I have just trialled Clear Books Online for a potential client and specifically looked at CIS and I also trialled Quickbooks Online but found their system clunky and not very user friendly.  My recommendation will be Clear Books.

Clear Books also offer a similar package to QBO where Accountants and Bookkeepers can obtain a discount on packages.

It may be worth a look.

Hi Susan

I can't recommend any specific software for doing CIS, but I carry out CIS for my clients and have set QBO up to cater for this, then I use Moneysoft Payroll Manager for my payroll, which also enables me to create the sub-contractor certificates from the info reports in QBO.

I sent another forum member a detailed explaination of how I've set up the reports and Product codes to sort this in QBO - if you'd like a copy, I can send this to you - just email me at info@ladyofledger.co.uk and I'll send it to you.
