VAT Cheat Sheet

Does anyone know where to find a "cheat sheet" showing different VAT rates.

If not, maybe we could put together our own?

Off the top of my head:

- Zero rated - Sewerage/water disposal, books, pamphlets, brochures, newspapers, maps, public transportation

- Lower rate (5%) - Energy

- Outside of Scope - Bank transfers, salaries, PAYE, Insurance claims, dividends, loans, MOTs, vehicle license duty, pension payments, charity donations, voluntary service charges,

- Exempt - postage, insurance, bank fees, finance charges,

Hi Terri,

I think if you would start one everybody would add more and more from their experiences :) like it is important for me if a cold sandwich is offered to be consumed on site with catering would be different VAT than if it was taken away but prolly a whole lot of other people wouldn't be interested and vice versa. Until you reach a very long list :)

I see from your other post you are digging on the HMRC/GOV site so I would use https://www.gov.uk/guidance/rates-of-vat-on-different-goods-and-services

You will find VAT notices as well for more details if you interested in or you need it for a 'special' customer.

Hope it helps
