A frequently asked question by all employers is the make-up of pay that is counted for National Minimum / Living Wage purposes. Whilst HMRC’s National Minimum Wage Manual does provide this information, this is not for everyday reading which is why mistakes are easy to make and employers can get it wrong when calculating payments to workers.
ICB is pleased to promote HMRC’s series of webinars on the topic of what counts as pay, what does not count and what reduces pay. The webinars are being held on the following dates and times and require registration:
- Monday 28 April 2025 from 11am to 12 pm;
- Tuesday 29 April 2025 from 10 am to 11 am;
- Thursday 01 May 2025 from 12.30 pm to 1.30 pm:
- Tuesday 06 May 2025 from 10 am to 11 am; and
- Thursday 08 May 2025 from 1 pm to 2pm
These are live webinars and attendees can ask questions to a panel of experts via the on-screen text box during the webinar. Further, for employers who attend the webinar and believe they have made a mistake, HMRC will be offering a call back service to provide further information and guidance to pay back arrears. The webinar will explain how to request a call back.
