ICB Co-Founder and President Garry Carter took part in a high-level meeting at Marlborough House this week, joining fellow heads of the Commonwealth’s Accredited Organisations to explore new ways of working together to boost prosperity across all 56 member states.
ICB is proud to be one of the Commonwealth’s Accredited Organisations, recognised for its contribution to building strong, inclusive economies through the professionalisation of bookkeeping. The meeting, hosted by Secretary-General the Rt Hon Patricia Scotland KC, focused on deepening collaboration and unlocking the potential of shared strategic partnerships.
Garry said:
“The Commonwealth represents a huge market for ICB professional qualifications because small businesses are key to prosperity in every member state. The ICB message - that behind every good small business is a good bookkeeper, and behind every good bookkeeper is ICB - resonates across borders and across nations.”
Garry also highlighted ICB’s proven approach to partnership working, which helps establish the systems and structures that small businesses need to thrive:
“ICB’s experience of working in genuine partnership with organisations that want to build robust and energetic small business infrastructures is a transferable model. I look forward to working with the Secretary-General, her partnership team, and the High Commissioners of those countries that are ambitious to support small businesses and the professionals behind them.”
The meeting marked an important step forward in building practical partnerships across the Commonwealth, with ICB at the table to ensure the voice of small business and bookkeeping is heard.
