HMRC are hosting a range of webinars in May which may be useful for bookkeepers.

Expenses and Benefits - Company Cars, Vans and Fuel

This webinar is where you have client who have employees and / or directors having private use of a company car or van.  It will cover information on:

  • The Income Tax and National Insurance considerations
  • Recordkeeping, and
  • Fuel made available for private use.

The first part of the webinar will cover company cars and the second part will be for company vans and requires registration for the following dates and times:

Expenses and Benefits – Employees with More Than One Workplace

The complicated world of reimbursing travel and subsistence expenses depends on where the employee has their workplace.  This webinar covers the tax and National Insurance implications for: 

  • Employee travel to different types of workplace
  • Different types of worker
  • Location in relation to a geographical area
  • The 24-month rule and
  • The 40% test

Expenses and Benefits - ‘Phones, Internet and Homeworking

This provides an overview of the Income Tax and National Insurance treatment where an employer: 

  • Provides a mobile phone
  • Reimburses the use of a personal mobile phone
  • Provides broadband in an employee’s home, or pays towards it
  • Provides homeworking expenses to its employees

Registration is required for the following dates and times:
