Working out of her garden office, Louise Moore has gone from strength to strength
After working as an Independent Financial Adviser and later working in the Pensions industry, Louise started a family with her husband. She then began taking care of the books for her husband’s business and decided to pursue bookkeeping as a career.
Louise’s working day usually starts at around 8:30 in the office her husband built in their garden, where she stays for the day unless she has client appointments. Most of her clients are based in her local area and from a variety of industries, although some are further afield. She is intending to take on some retail clients in the future.
Starting her practice has been both a challenge and an achievement, however, she cites the support of her family, ICB and attending Branch Meetings with local bookkeepers as giving her the confidence to move forward.
Louise has faith that ICB Bookkeepers are an integral part of clients embracing new technology and knows that being reliable, friendly and knowledgeable is invaluable to her clients. This is why she is currently working towards her Level IV Certificate in Bookkeeping with ICB Accredited Training Provider Ideal Schools, who have produced LUCA Award-winning students.
One piece of advice Louise would give to future women entrepreneurs is,
‘Don’t ever let anything hold you back. Have confidence in yourself because there is nothing more satisfying than earning a living on your own terms.’
