In July, ICB jointly launched its Level 5 Payroll Assistant Manager Apprenticeship assessments with top training provider, MBKB.

The highly anticipated Level 5 Payroll Assistant Manager Apprenticeship was developed by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IFATE) in line with growing employer and training provider demand and is the only higher-level apprenticeship in the payroll space.

Payroll professionals are in extremely high demand by businesses across the country. MBKB and ICB are working together to pilot the new payroll apprenticeship as the only training provider and end-point assessment organisation (EPAO), respectively, who are offering it. This latest Payroll Assistant Manager Apprenticeship will provide employers with the opportunity to develop their own high-quality payroll staff in-house.

ICB's online and on-demand assessments for payroll apprenticeships will provide apprentices with a fully flexible experience, within the bounds of the assessment plan, enabling them to fit their learning in around busy working lives.

Mark Bremner, Director of MBKB said:

“We are delighted to bring the Level 5 Payroll apprenticeship to the employers we work with. With our fantastic teaching, coupled with ICB’s great assessments and examiners, we hope to train the payroll talent that businesses need and to help our apprentices build the vibrant careers they want and deserve.”

The Level 5 Payroll Assistant Manager Apprenticeship is part of ICB’s excellent apprenticeship End Point Assessment (EPA) offering, including Level 3 Payroll Administrator, Level 2 Accounts or Finance Assistant and Level 3 Assistant Accountant.

ICB works with a number of the UK's leading apprenticeship training providers to deliver robust end point assessments that service employers’ needs from across the public and private sector, including NHS trusts and large corporations.

"We changed to ICB from another provider for the Payroll Level 3 Qualification because our last provider was just not adequate anymore for the needs of learners and I cannot be more happy we changed.  The support we get from ICB is second to none. I would Highly recommend ICB as an EPAO and I would not use anyone else."

The launch was a roaring success, with a number of high-profile employers and their apprentices attending to preview the assessment structure.

ICB Head of Qualification Standards and Quality Assurance, Allison Wildish said:

“We are very pleased that there was such interest in this new apprenticeship standard and that we have been able to our assessment alongside such a well-respected training provider as MBKB. We look forward to onboarding a whole new cohort of apprentices looking to turbo charge their careers.”
