Management accounts and handling of land and property
The Birmingham Branch meeting will focus on what is required of bookkeepers to produce management accounts for clients. This meeting will also look closely at what you need to look out for and how to produce, check and read the management accounts.
Everyone has different ways of producing management accounts so this meeting will give you the opportunity to come armed with examples of the way you do yours and share them with other members - there is no right or wrong!
As part of this we will discuss the differences in the handling of land and property, not just in how rent and rates entries should be shown but also from the perspective of how landlord rented properties are handled, especially as they are treated differently in self-assessment returns.
We will be joined by a senior accountant from a local and very well respected large firm of accountants who will be happy to assist us in our discussions and who specialises in management accounts and handling of land and property.
