HMRC are holding a series of live webinars regarding statutory payments, specifically aimed at advising who qualifies for the payments, what to pay and for how long.

Statutory Sick Pay (SSP)
This webinar (requiring registration) will be held live on:

- How to calculate and pay SSP;
- The effect of company sick pay, agency, casual and part-time employees on SSP; plus
- Essential record keeping
Statutory Maternity and Paternity Pay (SMP and SPP)
This webinar (requiring registration) will be held live on:
- Wednesday 12 March 2025 between 11:45am and 12:45pm; and
- Friday 14 March 2025 between 11:45am and 12:45pm
It covers the following:
- The qualifying conditions;
- How much to pay, using the online calculator;
- How to claim back these statutory payments;
- Keeping in touch days; and
- Record keeping

These live webinars cover the payments that can be made but do not cover the statutory right to leave (for child-related payments). They assume this employment law factor has been taken into consideration.
Note that there is no statutory right to be sick.
