At this time applications for a new practice licence may be delayed by extended wait times when obtaining a Criminal Record Check.

All new practice licence holders are required by the MLR 2017 to submit an up to date (dated within three months) Basic Criminal Record check. Please allow extra time to satisfy the ID-checking requirements of this process as the government websites struggle to provide ID checking services to the 500,000+ volunteers who are signing up to help with the COVID-19 effort.

Both you and your BOOMs will need to complete your basic checks by using the online criminal record check service, which can be found at:

England & Wales: https://www.gov.uk/request-copy-criminal-record

Northern Ireland: https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/services/apply-online-basic-check

Scotland: https://www.mygov.scot/basic-disclosure/apply-for-basic-disclosure/
