HMRC hold ‘Talking Points’ webinars (both live and recorded) which aim to provide information, guidance and tips to help you understand a range of tax issues.
ICB outlines these below:
The VAT Registration Estimator
HMRC recently launched their VAT Registration Estimator tool which is designed to help businesses estimate what registering for VAT may mean for them. On Wednesday 24 July 2024 between 11:45am and 12:45pm are holding a live webinar which requires registration.
This webinar will cover the following topics:
- What the VAT registration estimator does
- Who can use it
- The information required (to use it) and
- A step-by-step-guide on how to use the estimator
Creative Industries Reliefs and Credits (for Corporation Tax)
There are 8 Corporation Tax reliefs and 2 Corporation Tax expenditure credits available to companies in the creative industries. From 01 April 2024, all claims must be accompanied by an additional information form which evidence and supports the claim.
On Thursday 18 July 2024 between 3:45 and 4:45pm, HMRC will be holding a webinar to explain this new mandatory additional information form. This live webinar also require registration.
UK Freeports and Tax and Customs Benefits
This is a recorded webinar and gives an overview of UK Freeports and outlines the possible tax and customs benefits for two different example companies.
The Freeport reliefs are wider than just National Insurance, so if you have clients based in Freeport zones then this may be beneficial.
The Income Record Viewer
If you are an authorised agent for a client the viewer can be used to check their pay and tax information, employment history and tax codes. However, you must be able to access it first and this recorded YouTube webinar details how your clients can use the ‘digital handshake’ to authorise your request so you can access their information.
