The Cambridgeshire Branch is based in March, in the Fens. The Branch has been running since 2013 and we recently had our 50th meeting. We normally meet every other month at the Oliver Cromwell Hotel in March but are currently still running meetings on Zoom and welcome anyone.
We have a core group of members, a mix of members in practice with a few students. We have an active WhatsApp group to discuss issues, ask questions, or just generally chat. We were short-listed for the Luca Branch of the Year 2021.
We try to alternate and have a speaker every other time, and take requests if there is a specific topic. We have had visits from HMRC aswell as other members to do talks on software. It is a great opportunity to network, ask questions and potentially pick up work as we do pass on enquiries.
I have been in practice since 2009, doing general bookkeeping. I have recently expanded to take on my sister and we are both studying Level 4 with a view to be able to offer the complete package but currently do some sub-contracting to get those jobs completed for clients.
